On Saturday 24 June I took part in The Kenya Trust’s fundraising event at Staines Salvation Army. The music concert ‘Into Africa’ included vocal soloist Ann Stewart, David Daws playing euphonium and Staines Songsters (choir).

On stage during the evening I painted an African-themed oil painting  and offered it up for sale with 100% of the proceeds going to TKT’s fund which this year is raising money for a project that provides a safe place for victims of human trafficking. I’m pleased to say someone approached me at the end of the concert and bought the painting for his granddaughter’s bedroom wall.

Lions are one of Kenya’s big five game animals but the inspiration for the painting also came from biblical symbolism, Revelation 5:5–6
