Life, Christmas and marathon training have taken over studio time of late so it’s been a few months since I last wrote a blog post. During that time I’ve also slowed my pace of work and produced less art, however I feel like I’ve been ticking along ok with plenty of desire and ideas for 2017.
Evening life drawing sessions and a couple of longer Saturday sessions have kept my eye in. And, I’ve just started a new self-portrait as there is an open competition I plan on entering which requires one so I’ve not been completely neglecting my art.
I’m heading to St Ives in Cornwall next week. Perhaps not a classic time of year to visit but I’m hoping to experience some of the famous light which attracts many artists to the area. I’ve not been before but my research tells me there are plenty of little galleries to explore. No doubt it’ll get the artistic juices flowing. I’ll have my sketchbook so more than likely will post some drawings on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
This week I received confirmation that I’ll have a stand at the Landmark Art Fair in Teddington during the middle of October. I’ll see what other opportunities present themselves but this may be the main focus for a new body of work.
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading!
